Alzheimer's Centre Targeted

Under the light of the moon... 130+ sunflowers were installed on the back fence of the Alzheimer's Care Centre in under 20 min. A brilliant team... from creating the flowers to the actual install... a great big thank you to all the hands who helped.

Voluntary Arts Week - Craftbomb

Hi there

Just putting a shout out for Voluntary Arts Week. In Glasgow we're going to craftbomb in and around the Kibble Palace in the Botanic Gardens. The main event is on 11th May and where we'll be installing everything from knitted & stitched birds to teeny wee knitted insects and creating a pom-pom flower garden....there's much more but I don't want to give everything away :-) There will be different activities run throughout the day to encourage all ages to get creative so…

Sunflowers for Alzheimer's!

A spring install is in order... because with all this snow and cold, all I can think about is spring! So, maybe if we start planning now, it might help us get through the next couple of months. Easter is approaching… and I was reminded of our first yarn bomb… the Alzheimer Care Centre. The fence must certainly be in need of a refresh. I’m certain the residents would rather see bright flowers and not the weather worn bits hanging on their back fence.

Paint the Town Pink

CIBC Run for a Cure participants deserved a little bit of extra loving while they walk or run for Cancer. So various trees, posts, benches and bridge decks received a so very pretty in pink band. And little something extra... every so often a Knitmonton.ca tag with poetry. Yes, our first attempt with Wool and Words... and we're loving it.

Glasgow needs you!

The Olympics aren't just happening in London, they're also coming to Glasgow. We've got sone of the Olympic football games including the women's tournament and a few of us thought it would be great to yarnbomb the area around it.
