Hey Gals & Guys,

I have been introduced into the fantastic hobby by my sister in law and recently went out with her and the others in Farnham Yarn Storm ready for Unravelled 2012 at the Maltings.

I enjoyed myself and thought it was be good to have somewhere that everyone could get together, show off there work, get help and advice and make new friends so.....

Here it is, our very own Social Knitwork

Use this space to introduce yourself & enjoy!

Hi Everyone!

My name is Gaylin and my Mom taught me to crochet when I was about 8.  A few years ago I got some books and learned to knit.  From the first picture of yarnbombing I saw, it was all over!  The more pictures I see the deeper my Love/Obsession for this incredible art form grows.  Knowing that my soul would wither and die if I didn't jump in and go for it, I will be yarnbombing my town Florence, Oregon on the evening of May 17 the night before our annual Rhododendron Festival.  Any tips or helpful hints would be welcome and appreciated!  Thanks for this wonderful site and all the amazing, creative people who do this!

Hi, I'm a textile artist from Bordon, Hampshire. I was taught to knot by my mum when I was very small and regularly use it along with felting and weaving in my textile art pieces. I am just starting with the idea of yarn bombing and think its great!
Bloody spell checker! Knot=Knit :D

Hello

I'm a solo yarn bomber in Gloucestershire, though I do have an occasional partner in crime who I have just taught to crochet. Would like a posse to do big projects though.

What part of gloucestershire do you live in ,we are in the north cotswolds nr moreton in marsh and have yarn bombed locally, if you are near enough you could come and join in next time we do anything

I too understand the desire to have a posse. It would make those huge projects so much easier.

Hello,

I have been inspired by the Yarnbombing of my hometown of Basingstoke to finally start knitting, which I have been meaning to do for a while. So far I have been knitting basic stitch one day. It took me scheming yarnbombing ideas with a friend who knits to finally get my mum to teach me to knit. so far I'm enjoying it greatly :)

Loving reading these...big shout to you all and a wave of the needles high in the air. Knitting and crochet are oh so calming, mindless knitting of endless rows is good if you have been raging against bureaucracy at work or if you are in a very dark pub.....But knitting words is very addictive...especially orange and blue...hence my current devotion to my muse .....SHOE ZONE.  Hee he...keep subverting the craft guys and gals, debunking notions of what knitting is or should be xxxxx
